RESUMEN

Large amounts of azurophilic granules are considered to be a morphological feature of acute promyelocytic leukaemia (APL). However, a small percentage of acute myeloid leukaemia (AML) patients also have a large number of azurophilic granules. A large cohort of 3210 AML patients in our hospital was screened to identify AML patients who had a large number of azurophilic granules. The clinical parameters of these patients were collected and compared with typical AML patients (control Group 1) and APL patients (control Group 2). The incidence of AML with a large number of azurophilic granules was 1.26%. The fibrinogen and D-dimer levels of patients in the study group were more similar to those of patients in control Group 2, as was the incidence of bleeding events. Additionally, patients in the study group had higher FLT3-ITD and NPM1 mutation rates than patients in control Group 1. Finally, patients in the study group had a higher 30-day mortality rate than those in control Group 2 (24.2% vs. 9.09%) and showed a higher 30-day mortality trend than those in control Group 1. Therefore, we should pay more attention to the prevention of coagulation dysfunction and bleeding events for these patients.

RESUMEN

N6-Methyladenosine (m6A) is a important process regulating gene expression post-transcriptionally. Programmed death ligand 1 (PD-L1) is a major immune inhibitive checkpoint that facilitates immune evasion and is expressed in tumor cells. In this research we discovered that Wilms' tumor 1-associated protein (WTAP) degradation caused by ubiquitin-mediated cleavage in cancer cells (colorectal cancer, CRC) under hypoxia was inhibited by Pumilio homolog 1 (PUM1) directly bound to WTAP. WTAP enhanced PD-L1 expression in a way that was m6A-dependent. m6A "reader," Insulin-like growth factor 2 mRNA-binding protein 2 (IGF2BP2) identified methylated PD-L1 transcripts and subsequently fixed its mRNA. Additionally, we found that T-cell proliferation and its cancer cell-killing effects were prevented by overexpression of WTAP in vitro and in vivo. Overexpression prevented T cells from proliferating and killing CRC by maintaining the expression of PD-L1. Further evidence supporting the WTAP-PD-L1 regulatory axis was found in human CRC and organoid tissues. Tumors with high WTAP levels appeared more responsive to anti-PD1 immunotherapy, when analyzing samples from patients undergoing treatment. Overall, our findings demonstrated a novel PD-L1 regulatory mechanism by WTAP-induced mRNA epigenetic regulation and the possible application of targeting WTAP as immunotherapy for tumor hypoxia.

RESUMEN

BACKGROUND: The outcome of relapsed/refractory (R/R) acute myeloid leukemia (AML) remains extremely poor. Venetoclax (VEN)-based regimens have shown promise in treating R/R AML. OBJECTIVE: This phase 2 study aimed to systematically evaluate the efficacy and safety of the VAA regimen (VEN plus Cytarabine and Azacitidine) in R/R AML patients. METHODS: Thirty R/R AML patients were enrolled. The study adopted a stepwise ramp-up of VEN dosing, starting with 100 mg on day 1, escalating to 200 mg on day 2, and reaching 400 mg from day 3 to day 9. Cytarabine (10 mg/m2, q12h) was administered intravenously twice daily from days 1 to 10, and Azacitidine (75 mg/m2) was administered via subcutaneous injection once daily from days 1-7. The primary efficacy endpoint was the composite complete remission rate (CRc), including complete response (CR) and complete response with incomplete blood count recovery (CRi). Secondary endpoints included overall survival (OS), duration of response (DOR), and safety analysis. RESULTS: The CRc rate was 63.3% (19/30), with CR in 36.7% of patients and CRi in 26.7%. Notably, 14 (73.7%) of 19 patients achieving CRc showed undetectable measurable residual disease by flow cytometry. With a median follow-up of 10.7 months, the median OS had not been reached, and the median DOR was 18.3 months. The most common grade 3-4 adverse events (AEs) were neutropenia (100%), anemia (96.7%), thrombocytopenia (90.0%), and leukopenia (90.0%). Infections, with pneumonia being the most prevalent (43.3%), were observed, including one fatal case of Pseudomonas aeruginosa septicemia. There were no treatment-related deaths. CONCLUSION: The VAA regimen is an effective and safe option for patients with R/R AML, demonstrating a high CRc rate and manageable safety profile.

RESUMEN

Territorial space conflicts (TSCs) in coastal zones stem from the intricate interaction between the land-sea dual system, significantly impacting the sustainable development of these areas. To accurately identify TSCs, our study proposed a theoretical framework based on a land-sea interaction perspective. We also assessed TSCs using the territorial space conflicts index and a social network analysis model. We demonstrated the proposed spatial conflicts assessment methodology through a case study of Wenzhou, a typical city on the east coast of China. Our results indicate that the distribution of TSCs gradually decreased from the coastal zone to the inland zone, with significant variation in the distribution of different conflict types across different zones. The findings also reveal that territorial space use had diverse impacts on the space conflict network, making it urgent to take targeted measures. In the future, it is crucial to comprehensively consider the overall pattern and distribution characteristics of current TSCs, as well as the spatial spillover effect of the overall network, to develop targeted coping strategies and regulation mechanisms that promote the integration and high-quality development of coastal territorial space systems. To maintain a sustainable coastal zone process, we proposed a set of optimization paths for alleviating TSCs and promoting the coordinated development of land and sea regions in China based on our study.

RESUMEN

In this study, the graded hierarchical hexagonal honeycomb (GHHH) integrating gradient design and hierarchical design was fabricated using the 3D-printing technique, and its in-plane elastic properties were investigated theoretically, experimentally, and numerically. Theoretical solutions were developed based on the Euler beam theory to predict the effective elastic modulus and Poisson's ratio of GHHH, and theoretical values were in good agreement with the experimental and numerical results. The effect of gradient design and hierarchical design on the in-plane elastic properties of GHHH was also analyzed and compared. Results showed that the hierarchical design has a more significant effect on Poisson's ratio and adjusting the internal forces of GHHH compared with the gradient design. In addition, it was found that GHHH exhibited higher stiffness compared with regular hexagonal honeycomb (RHH), graded hexagonal honeycomb (GHH), and vertex-based hierarchical hexagonal honeycomb (VHHH) under the constraint of the same relative density, respectively. Specifically, the effective elastic modulus of GHHH can be enhanced by 119.82% compared to that of RHH. This research will help to reveal the effect of integrating hierarchical design and gradient design on the in-plane elastic properties of honeycombs.

RESUMEN

During an investigation of lignicolous freshwater fungi in the Tibetan Plateau, three Aquapteridospora taxa were collected from freshwater habitats in Xizang, China. The new species possess polyblastic, sympodial, denticles conidiogenous cells and fusiform, septate, with or without sheath conidial, that fit within the generic concept of Aquapteridospora, and multi-gene phylogeny placed these species within Aquapteridospora. Detailed morphological observations clearly demarcate three of these from extant species and are hence described as new taxa. The multi-gene phylogeny of the combined LSU, TEF1-α, and ITS sequence data to infer phylogenetic relationships and discuss phylogenetic affinities with morphologically similar species. Based on morphological characteristics and phylogenetic analyses, three new species viz. A.linzhiensis, A.yadongensis, and A.submersa are introduced. Details of asexual morphs are described, and justifications for establishing these new species are also provided in this study.

RESUMEN

During the investigations of discomycetes in Yunnan, China, five species of Tatraea were discovered on decayed, decorticated oak trees or unidentified wood. All species have typical disc-like, large fruiting bodies with grey, brown or greyish-green colors. The ITS sequence analysis showed that they belong to Tatraea (Helotiaceae, Helotiales) and the LSU and ITS combination revealed a different topology within the genus. Four species, T.clepsydriformis, T.griseoturcoisina, T.yunnanensis and T.yuxiensis were established as new species, and T.aseptata was collected and described on oak woods. The pairwise homoplasy index (PHI) test results indicated that there is no significant genetic recombination (Φw = 1.0) between all related species pairs. All the species described here are supported by descriptions, illustrations and multi-gene analyses.

RESUMEN

Venetoclax plus 3 + 7 daunorubicin and cytarabine chemotherapy (DAV) has shown safety and efficacy in eligible patients with newly diagnosed acute myeloid leukemia (AML). However, there are no direct comparisons between DAV and 3 + 7 daunorubicin and cytarabine chemotherapy (DA) alone. We performed a propensity score-matched analysis to compare the outcomes of DAV group with historical DA group and identify the clinical and molecular characteristics of patients who might benefit from the DAV regimen. The DAV group had a higher Complete remission (CR) rate than the DA group (90% vs. 55%, p = 0.008). 25 (96%) patients in the DAV group had a higher MRD-negative CRc rate compared with 13 (62%) patients in the DA group (p = 0.006). After a median follow-up duration of 19.15 (IQR 17.13-21.67) months, the DAV group had an improved overall survival (p = 0.001) and event-free survival (p = 0.069), but not disease-free survival (p = 0.136). Collectively, DAV regimen induced high CR rates and deep MRD-negative CRc rates after one cycle of induction therapy, as well as prolonged the overall survival, in young adult patients with AML who were eligible for intensive chemotherapy. The addition of venetoclax to intensive chemotherapy should be considered in the future to achieve better survival advantages in eligible AML patients.

RESUMEN

Chinaberry (Melia azedarach), belonging to the family of Meliaceae, is an ornamental tree distributes across southern of China. In the autumn of 2021, In an area of 400 acres located in Wanning city of Hainan Province, a tropical island in China, with coordinates of 110°28'42.72″E, 19°2'9.96″N, about 20 % (100) of the chinaberry trees showed disease symptoms included chlorotic leaves. The disease symptoms were consistent with infections by a phloem-limited prokaryotic pathogen phytoplasma. The samples of six symptomatic and three asymptomatic were collected for pathogen detection. To identify the pathogen, total nucleic acids were extracted from 0.10 g fresh leaf tissues from the diseased and healthy plant using CTAB DNA extraction method based on Doyle and Doyle. Three primer pairs of R16mF2/R16mR1, secAfor1/secArev3 and fTuf1/rTuf1 were used for specific identification of phytoplasma conserved gene fragments of 16S rDNA, secA and tuf, PCR amplification. Target PCR bands were amplified from the DNA of six diseased chinaberry samples, but not from the DNA of the healthy samples. The products of amplified were cloned and sequenced by Biotechnology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. (Guangzhou, China). The phytoplasma gene sequences of 16S rRNA, secA and tuf were obtained and all the sequences were identical with the length of 1336 bp, 710 bp and 955 bp, respectively. Representative sequence data for strain MaCL-hn were deposited in Genbank under accession Nos. OR438638 (16S rDNA), OR513089 (secA) and OR860415 (tuf). The phytoplasma strain identified in the study was described as chinaberry chlorotic leaf (MaCL) phytoplasma, MaCL-hn strain. BLAST search based on 16S rRNA genes showed that 43 strains in 16SrI group 'Candidatus Phytoplasma asteris' showed 100% similarity with the 16SRNA sequence of MaCL-hn. BLAST search based on secA genes showed that 9 strains in the phytoplasma group showed 100% similarity with the 16SRNA sequence of MaCL-hn. BLAST search based on tuf genes showed that 21 strains in the phytoplasma group showed 100% similarity with the 16SRNA sequence of MaCL-hn. RFLP analysis based on iPhyClassifier indicated that the MaCL-hn strain was a member of 16SrI-B subgroup with a similarity coefficient 1.00 to the reference phytoplasma strain (AP006628). Phylogenetic tree was constructed based on 16S rRNA by MEGA 11.0 using neighbor-joining (NJ) method with 1000 bootstrap value. The results showed that the MaCL-hn strains were clustered into one clade with 16SrI group 'Ca. Phytoplasma asteris' related strains with 99 % bootstrap value. Multilocus sequence analysis (MLSA) based on the concatenated sequences with the length of 3001 bp including the sequences of 16S rRNA, secA and tuf showed that the MaCL-hn strains were clustered into one clade with the phytoplasma strains in the group with 100 % bootstrap value. To our knowledge, this is the first report that chinaberry can be infected by 'Ca. Phytoplasma asteris'-related strains belonging to 16SrI-B subgroup on Hainan Island of China. This finding in the study will contribute to the epidemic monitoring and the preventive management of the phytoplasmas and their related diseases.

RESUMEN

Gilteritinib, a potent FMS-like tyrosine kinase 3 (FLT3) inhibitor, was approved for relapsed/refractory (R/R) FLT3-mutated acute myeloid leukaemia (AML) patients but still showed limited efficacy. Here, we retrospectively analysed the efficacy and safety of different gilteritinib-based combination therapies (gilteritinib plus hypomethylating agent and venetoclax, G + HMA + VEN; gilteritinib plus HMA, G + HMA; gilteritinib plus venetoclax, G + VEN) in 33 R/R FLT3-mutated AML patients. The composite complete response (CRc) and modified CRc (mCRc) rates were 66.7% (12/18) and 88.9% (16/18) in patients received G + HMA + VEN, which was higher compared with that in G + HMA (CRc: 18.2%, 2/11; mCRc: 45.5%, 5/11) or G + VEN (CRc: 50.0%, 2/4; mCRc: 50.0%, 2/4). The median overall survival (OS) for G + HMA + VEN, G + HMA and G + VEN treatment was not reached, 160.0 days and 231.0 days. The median duration of remission (DOR) for G + HMA + VEN, G + HMA and G + VEN treatment was not reached, 82.0 days and 77.0 days. Four patients in the G + HMA + VEN group received alloHSCT after remission exhibited prolonged median DOR. The most common grade 3/4 adverse events were cytopenia, febrile neutropenia and pulmonary infection; there were no differences among the three groups. In conclusion, our data demonstrated promising response of G + HMA + VEN combination therapy in R/R FLT3-mutated AML, and it may be considered an effective therapy bridge to transplantation.

RESUMEN

Cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection is currently prevalent in populations throughout the world, and 56%|-94% of the global population is seropositive for CMV. CMV infection mainly affects immunocompromised hosts. In these cases, it can cause significant symptoms, tissue-invasive disease, and many sequelae including death (Dioverti and Razonable, 2016). The vast majority of healthy adults with CMV infection experience an asymptomatic course; when symptomatic, it manifests as a mononucleosis-like syndrome in approximately 10% of patients (Sridhar et al., 2018). The gastrointestinal tract and central nervous system appear to be the most frequent sites of severe CMV infection in immunocompetent individuals (Rafailidis et al., 2008). However, CMV infection is relatively rarely recorded in immunocompetent hosts.

RESUMEN

PURPOSE: This study examined the protective effects and mechanism of Lycium barbarum polysaccharides (LBP) in the context of intestinal barrier function and intestinal microbiota in mice with dextran sulfate sodium (DSS)-induced chronic ulcerative colitis (UC). METHODS: C57BL/6J male mice were assigned to a standard normal diet without DSS (control group), a normal diet with DSS (DSS group, 2% DSS given discontinuously for 3 weeks) or a normal diet supplemented with LBP (1% dry feed weight, LBP group, 2% DSS given discontinuously for 3 weeks) for a total of 8 weeks, at which point colonic tissues and caecal contents were collected. RESULTS: LBP exerted a significant effect against colitis by increasing body weight, colon length, DAI and histopathological scores. LBP inhibited proinflammatory cytokines (IL-1ß, IL-6, iNOS and TNF-α) expression, improved anti-inflammatory cytokine (IL-10) expression, promoted the expression of tight junction proteins (Occludin and ZO-1) via nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2 (Nrf2) activation and decreased Claudin-2 expression to maintain the intestinal mucosal barrier. In addition, the abundances of some probiotics (Ruminococcaceae, Lactobacillus, Butyricicoccus, and Akkermansia) were decreased with DSS treatment but increased obviously with LBP treatment. And LBP reduced the abundance of conditional pathogens associated with UC (Mucispirillum and Sutterella). Furthermore, LBP improved the production of short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs), including acetic acid, propionic acid, butyric acid and isobutyric acid. CONCLUSION: LBP can alleviate DSS-induced UC by regulating inflammatory cytokines and tight junction proteins. Moreover, LBP promotes probiotics, suppresses conditional pathogens and increases SCFAs production, showing a strong prebiotic effect.

RESUMEN

Management of tailings at metal mine smelter sites can reduce the potential hazards associated with exposure to toxic metal(loid)s and residual organic flotation reagents. In addition, microbes in the tailings harboring multi-resistance genes (e.g., tolerance to multiple antimicrobial agents) can cause high rates of morbidity and global economic problems. The potential co-selection mechanisms of antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) and metal(loid) resistance genes (MRGs) during tailings sulfate-reducing bacteria (SRB) treatment have been poorly investigated. Samples were collected from a nonferrous metal mine tailing site treated with an established SRB protocol and were analyzed for selected geochemical properties and high throughput sequencing of 16S rRNA gene barcoding. Based on the shotgun metagenomic analysis, the bacterial domain was dominant in nonferrous metal(loid)-rich tailings treated with SRB for 12 months. KEGGs related to ARGs and MRGs were detected. Thiobacillus and Sphingomonas were the main genera carrying the bacA and mexEF resistance operons, along with Sulfuricella which were also found as the main genera carrying MRGs. The SRB treatment may mediate the distribution of numerous resistance genes. KOs based on the metagenomic database indicated that ARGs (mexNW, merD, sul, and bla) and MRGs (czcABCR and copRS genes) were found on the same contig. The SRB strains (Desulfosporosinus and Desulfotomaculum), and the acidophilic strain Acidiphilium significantly contributed to the distribution of sul genes. The functional metabolic pathways related to siderophores metabolism were largely from anaerobic genera of Streptomyces and Microbacterium. The presence of arsenate reductase, metal efflux pump, and Fe transport genes indicated that SRB treatment plays a key role in the metal(loid)s transformation. Overall, our findings show that bio-treatment is an effective tool for managing ARGs/MRGs and metals in tailings that contain numerous metal(loid) contaminants.

RESUMEN

To reducing chemotherapy-related toxicity, the chemo-free regimens become a new trend of Ph + ALL treatment. Therefore, we conducted a phase 2 trial of dasatinib plus prednisone, as induction (Course I) and early consolidation (Courses II and III) treating newly diagnosed Ph + ALL. The trial was registered at www.chictr.org.cn, ChiCTR2000038053. Forty-one patients were enrolled from 15 hospitals. The complete remission (CR) was 95% (39/41), including two elderly induction deaths. By the end of Course III, 25.6% (10/39) of patients achieved a complete molecular response. With a median follow-up of 15.4 months, 2-year disease-free survival (DFS) were 100% and 33% for patients who receiving haematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) at CR1 and receiving chemotherapy alone respectively. When censored at time of HSCT, 2-year DFS were 51% and 45% for young and elderly patients (p = 0.987). 2-year overall survival were 45%, 86% and 100% for patients without HSCT, receiving HSCT after relapse and receiving HSCT at CR1 respectively. A total of 12 patients had marrow recurrences and one had CNS relapse, with 38% occurred early (between Courses I and III). IKZF1 gene deletion was shown to be associated with relapse (p = 0.019). This chemo-free induction and early consolidation regimen was efficacious and well-tolerated in de novo Ph + ALL. Allogeneic HSCT conferred definite survival advantage after chemo-free induction.

RESUMEN

The aim of our study was to summarize the clinical characteristics of early death patients with newly diagnosed secondary hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (sHLH), analyze the risk factors of early death, and analyze the survival of patients. The clinical characteristics of 324 newly diagnosed sHLH patients admitted to the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University Medical College and Zhejiang Provincial Cancer Hospital from January 2014 to February 2021 were analyzed retrospectively. Analyze the independent risk factors of early death, compare the secondary diseases and treatment methods of patients with early death group and non early death group, and analyze the survival of all patients with sHLH. Among the 324 newly diagnosed patients with sHLH, 134 died early, with an early mortality rate of 41.4%. Comparing the clinical characteristics of patients with early death group and patients with non early death group, logistic regression model was used to conduct multifactor analysis. Age > 60 years, Plt ≤ 20.0 × 109/L, APTT > 36.0 s and LDH > 1000.0 U/L were independent risk factors for early death of newly diagnosed sHLH patients (P < 0.05). Comparing the secondary diseases and treatment methods between early death group and non early death group, the proportion of sHLH patients secondary to lymphoma was higher in early death group than that in non early death group (P < 0.05). The proportion of sHLH patients secondary to connective tissue disease and infection was lower in early death group than that in non early death group (P < 0.05), and the proportion of sHLH patients used hormone combined chemotherapy was lower in early death group than that in non early death group (P < 0.05). The median follow-up time of all patients was 12.0 (1-65) months. The 5-year OS rates of patients with age > 60 years and age ≤ 60 years were 25.8% and 49.6% respectively (P < 0.001); The 5-year OS rates of patients with Plt > 20.0 × 109/L and Plt ≤ 20.0 × 109/L were 52.5% and 25.5% respectively (P < 0.001); The 5-year OS rates of patients with APTT > 36.0 s and APTT ≤ 36.0 s were 34.5% and 57.4% respectively (P < 0.001); The 5-year OS rates of patients with LDH > 1000.0 U/L and LDH ≤ 1000.0 U/L were 23.3% and 56.3% respectively (P < 0.001). Age > 60 years, Plt ≤ 20.0 × 109/L, APTT > 36.0 s and LDH > 1000.0 U/L are independent risk factors for early death of sHLH patients. The early mortality of lymphoma associated HLH (LA-HLH) patients is high, and early use of hormone combined chemotherapy can reduce the early mortality.

RESUMEN

Background: Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) is a kind of highly heterogeneous non-Hodgkin lymphoma, both in clinical and genetic terms. DLBCL is admittedly categorized into six subtypes by genetics, which contain MCD, BN2, EZB, N1, ST2, and A53. Dyslipidemia is relevant to a multitude of solid tumors and has recently been reported to be associated with hematologic malignancies. We aim to present a retrospective study investigating dyslipidemia in DLBCL based on the molecular subtypes. Results: This study concluded that 259 patients with newly diagnosed DLBCL and their biopsy specimens were available for molecular typing. Results show that the incidence of dyslipidemia (87.0%, p <0.001) is higher in the EZB subtype than in others, especially hypertriglyceridemia (78.3%, p = 0.001) in the EZB subtype. Based on the pathological gene-sequencing, patients with BCL2 gene fusion mutation are significantly correlative with hyperlipidemia (76.5%, p = 0.006) and hypertriglyceridemia (88.2%, p = 0.002). Nevertheless, the occurrence of dyslipidemia has no remarkable influence on prognosis. Conclusion: In summary, dyslipidemia correlates with genetic heterogeneity in DLBCL without having a significant influence on survival. This research first connects lipids and genetic subtypes in DLBCL.

RESUMEN

We propose a simulation method for a multireflector terahertz imaging system. The description and verification of the method are based on an existing active bifocal terahertz imaging system at 0.22 THz. Using the phase conversion factor and angular spectrum propagation, the computation of the incident and received fields requires only a simple matrix operation. The phase angle is used to calculate the ray tracking direction, and the total optical path is used to calculate the scattering field of defective foams. Compared with the measurements and simulations of aluminum disks and defective foams, the validity of the simulation method is confirmed in the field of view of 50 cm × 90 cm at 8 m. This work aims to develop better imaging systems by predicting their imaging behavior for different targets before manufacturing.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the accuracy of the YuWell YE660D oscillometric upper-arm blood pressure (BP) monitor in general population (for clinic and home BP measurements in adults) according to the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation/European Society of Hypertension/International Organization for Standardization (AAMI/ESH/ISO) Universal Standard (ISO 81060-2 : 2018) and its Amendment 1. 2020. METHODS: Subjects were recruited to fulfill the age, sex, BP and cuff distribution criteria of the AAMI/ESH/ISO Universal Standard in general population using the same arm sequential BP measurement method. Two cuffs of the test device were used for arm circumferences 22-32 cm (standard) and 22-45 cm (wide range). RESULTS: Ninety-two subjects were recruited and 85 subjects were analyzed. For validation criterion 1, the mean ±â€…SD of the differences between the test device and reference BP readings was 0.3 ±â€…7.2/2.2 ±â€…5.5 mmHg (systolic/diastolic). For validation criterion 2, the SD of the averaged BP differences between the test device and reference BP per subject was 6.1/4.8 mmHg (systolic/diastolic). CONCLUSION: The YuWell YE660D oscillometric upper-arm electronic BP monitor has passed the requirements of the AAMI/ESH/ISO Universal Standard (ISO 81060-2 : 2018) and its Amendment 1. 2020 in adults and hence can be recommended for home and clinical use.

RESUMEN

During the investigation of lignicolous freshwater fungi in the Tibetan Plateau habitat, fifteen collections were isolated from submerged decaying wood. Fungal characteristics are commonly found as punctiform or powdery colonies with dark pigmented and muriform conidia. Multigene phylogenetic analyses of combined ITS, LSU, SSU and TEF DNA sequences showed that they belong to three families in Pleosporales. Among them, Paramonodictys dispersa, Pleopunctum megalosporum, Pl. multicellularum and Pl. rotundatum are established as new species. Paradictyoarthrinium hydei, Pleopunctum ellipsoideum and Pl. pseudoellipsoideum are reported as new records on the freshwater habitats in Tibetan Plateau, China. The morphological descriptions and illustrations of the new collections are provided.

RESUMEN

Grasslands, as one of the key ecosystems relevant to the terrestrial ecosystem carbon and water cycles as well as the ecological security in China, are very sensitive to climate change and human activities. However, the relative contributions of climate change and human activities on the vegetation restoration in those regions are still controversial. Using ecosystem net primary production (NPP) as an ecological indicator, this study quantified the relative roles of climate change and human activities on vegetation restoration in Chinese typical grasslands (northern temperate grasslands and Qinghai-Tibet Plateau alpine grasslands) by comparing the trends of actual NPP derived from MODIS and potential NPP estimated by the Thornthwaite Memorial model during 2000-2020. The results showed that approximately 93% of the grasslands in the study area experienced a recovering tendency, with an average increase of NPP (carbon) by 2.12 g·(m2·a)-1(P<0.01). Therein, nearly half of the vegetation-restored areas were jointly-dominated by climate change and human activities, whereas approximately 36% and 10% of the restored areas were controlled individually by climate change and human activities, respectively. In addition, the share of climate-change dominated areas differed greatly by grassland types, characterized by a much larger area percentage in the alpine grasslands than that in the temperate grasslands and an increasing area share with a drying background climate. This study suggested that human activities were not primarily responsible for the vegetation restoration in northern temperate grasslands and Qinghai-Tibet Plateau alpine grasslands, but they could decrease and even cancel the possible vegetation degeneration caused by worsening climate in a few regions. Long-term monitoring of vegetation dynamics and a multi-method comparison are needed in future studies.
